Life sciences companies spend a great deal of time and effort managing product labeling documentation. This is due to the fact that core product information must be replicated and maintained in many related documents around the world and in multiple languages. In addition, companies are now required to submit XML-based product labeling documents to the regulators in the United States in a format called Structured Product Labeling (SPL) and in the European Union in a format called Product Information Management (PIM).
