Crown Partners Recycle Bin provides EMC Documentum users with a very simple approach to object level restore, similar to the Microsoft® Windows Recycle Bin. Deleted objects display in users’ recycle bins until further action is taken. Users or administrators can restore documents and folder structures with ease. This assures protection against inadvertent object deletion and makes single object restore nearly instantaneous. Recycle Bin is an extra security layer that protects against data loss.
Recycle Bin manages the EMC Documentum object deletion process by:
• Performing a "soft delete" when the EMC Documentum delete function is selected.
• Displaying "soft deleted" documents in users' Recycle Bins.
• Retaining an object’s original metadata and relations including modification or creation date.
Recycle Bin provides an easy and fast method to restore documents in recycle bins by allowing users to:
• Have access to their own recycle bins and restoration ability
• Select one or more recycle bin objects to restore.
• Return restored objects to their original locations with all metadata and relations intact including modification and creation dates.
Recycle Bin allows users and authorized recycle bin administrators to manage documents that are in recycle bins by:
• Offering two optional configurations – end user- or administrator-managed.
• Enabling administrators to permanently delete one or more objects in users' recycle bins.
• Permitting administrators to view all content of other users’ recycle bins without being able to access content in those recycle bins.
• Enabling administrators to generate usage reports and purge jobs for all recycle bin content.
