Courion is a leading provider of access assurance solutions which, combined with RSA’s security suite of products, enable enterprises to manage the complete identity and access management lifecycle. Access assurance solutions have four stages. They are:
Access governance: the process of defining access policies, roles and entitlements, based on corporate policies and industry best practices.
Access provisioning: the process of enabling access to applications or systems. Provisioning involves creating accounts on one or more target systems and ensuring that the appropriate entitlements are established. Target systems include applications, databases, networks, desktop systems and other authorization systems, such as web access management (WAM), single sign-on (SSO), two-factor authentication, privileged account management (PAM), etc.
Access Intelligence: focuses on what users are actually doing. It includes detecting, monitoring and managing specific activities using a variety of sources, such as enVision, DLP or other kinds of system or network log files. By examining user activity in the context of profiles & entitlements, a system administrator can determine if uses are acting outside the scope of policy and take appropriate steps to remediate the situation.
Access Compliance: enables managers to validate and attest that end-users have access rights and entitlements consistent with corporate policy or relevant industry guidelines and government regulations.
